How Ultrasound Pregnancy Scans Work
When it comes to Pregnancy Scans, most often it is the ultrasonic technology that is being used for the purpose. Since there is no radiation involved, it causes no harm either to the mother or the growing baby inside her womb. Besides, this technology is able to provide accurate information.
In ultrasound scans, the transducer emits sounds with very high frequency that human ears are unable to grasp. These sound waves are able to penetrate liquids. But when soft tissue is hit they reflect a certain percentage. When they fall on bone a higher percentage is reflected.
The reflected sounds are grasped by the instrument and depending on the intensity, the computer generates the image. This image is made a three dimensional one by taking pictures from different angles. Finally, you will find a three dimensional image of the baby you have inside your womb. The sonographer is able to provide you with a lot more details in addition to the picture.
